Goals\Outline
MAIN CONCEPTS TAUGHT
These are based on a form of ‘Constructivist’ philosophy in Sculpture.
To express a type of artistic anarchy by rejecting the prospects of terms of reference outside the art object, symbolic images to do with realities of figure, landscape and scene objects.
To assert the right of the art object to create within its own energy, a visual term of reference to be found in a sense of order prevailing in a structural system dictated and chosen in an intellectual commitment.
To search for and realize works with logic and purity. (The course does allow for individuals to cast side glances at nature and its systems in justifying some of their geometric and constructed mathematical forms.)
To understand that in nature’s orderliness, there is also disorder and disarray caused by systems in collision, that is, cause and effect.
To obey impulse and idea, bypassing reproductive art with inventive creation.
